Mood swings?
« on: July 20, 2010, 08:57:25 PM »
So I am writing this not as a cultural question, but more of a general poll.

Do you find that your guy is MOODY? ???

Its so hard to take sometimes.  I dont care what men say but men are just as moody...IF NOT MORE moodier than women.

Sometimes its so hard to take.  They throw their fit, they pout.  Sometimes you feel like being patient and understanding and others you just say "fine."

Can't say DH is moody...I can certainly take the cake on that one, but my father certainly is.  The moods my mother has had to put up with...jeez.   ::)

My husband is the calmest person I know.  Not even a hint of a mood swing.  I don't think this is a men/women thing or a British/American thing, it's a person to person thing.  Some people are moody and some aren't, regardless of their gender or nationality.

I agree that it just depends on the person.  My BF is not moody at all.  I, on the other hand, can have my moments particularly if I'm running late, semi-asleep, or hungry.  God help us if I'm all three!  :P

My first long-term boyfriend was really moody/broody.  It used to drive me crazy.

I also dated a guy once who had one mood, a bit like Eeyore.  It was this whole aloof-introspective-woe-is-me thing...really annoying.

I don't think it's a gender thing either. My husband is the most even-tempered person I know. I however ...  :P

I am much more moody than my husband.  He's even tempered and patient 99% of the time.  He gets angry and upset occassionally (and it's surprising because he's always so calm normally), but I'd hardly call him moody.

He definitely gets it from his father.  While his father could get upset about something, it's forgotten the next moment.  He's always upbeat.  It's annoying sometimes.  His mum, on the other hand, is the moodiest person I've met since I've moved here.

I'd have to say that I'm the moody one out of DH and myself. His mum can be as well, his dad just carries on through the day, like always.

I'm like this as well. Think it's just down to the individual.  :)

Hee. My own father has described me as "volatile". Which is a very posh way of saying "moody cow" I think!  ;D
I tend to snap back and forth between moods more than DH, while he might be in the grips of a bad mood for longer.  My disposition is general optimistic and cheerful, but I can turn on a dime. He, on the other hand, tends to "settle" more sort of neutral but take longer to work up to a mood change.
Definitely just a "person" thing rather than gender or nationality!

Though I don't think its a man/woman thing, my DH is moody. In his own words, he describes it to be "his diva side".

I believe that men have hormonal cycles similar to women's menstrual cycles, so can actually be a bit moodier depending on their hormone levels. Guess we all have our 'time of the month'.
