o dear, north carolina drivers license expires today

todays my birthday and i just realized that means my license expired. i am over here til sept 1 so i dont know what to do, if there is anything i can do. i will call the dmv when they open, but does anyone here have any advice?

I didn't see a method for renewing your license online, but you can call them if you're living outside the state to see about renewing by mail.

thank you! i didnt see that bit on the web site. it gives a glimmer of hope. it depends on who i get on the phone i guess, their motivation.....

Doesn't North Carolina have a requirement that you show proof of insurance in order to get a license?  I'm fairly certain they would require that for renewal, as well. 

i have called twice. nothing i can do. this really messes up my last few weeks here. i cant blame anyone but myself, so let this be a lesson to others.....

I don't know about your state, but in New York you have like two years to renew your license once it expires. Mine expires on Friday....

Yeah, I think you have some sort of grace period. I remember there was one when I had to renew my MD license. Hopefully something works out!

Yes, I just renewed my MD license. I renewed almost 30 days after the 'expiration' date.
