im apllying in uk, done biometric in dec 20th, just wanting to know how long after we have to wait to hear about decision....  :-[
You've got the wrong thread.

This is for UK Settlement (spousal visas etc) applied for outside the UK.

If you've applied for ILR (Settlement) from inside the UK check this thread:
http://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=61433.0

If you've applied for FLR(M) from inside the UK you can be waiting up to 6 months. I can't recall anyone who has recently applied by post like you have but I'm sure if you poke around the visas board you might find some recent experiences.

Wow, I am in absolute shock. In the best way ever.  ;D

Sat 14 Jan at 17:00 : Submitted my online application.
Tue 17 Jan at 12:30 : Attended biometrics.
Tue 17 Jan at 15:00 : Mailed application and documents with priority service.
Wed 18 Jan at 12:00 : Received notification email that package had been received.
Thu 19 Jan at 08:30 : Received notification email that UK Visa has been issued!

I can't believe how quickly it was turned around. Granted, my application was pretty straightforward - no previous immigration issues, no criminal history, nothing complicated. Even still, it was in the New York office less than 24 hours before the visa was issued. :)

This is the best day ever ;D
9 Aug 11 - Married <3
14 Jan 12 - Submitted spousal visa application online
17 Jan 12 - Biometrics and mailed
19 Jan 12 - Visa issued!
21 Feb 12 - Moved to the UK!
01 May 13 - Passed the LitUK test :D
19 Mar 14 - Applied for ILR via checking service
29 Mar 14: Rec'd biometrics letter (dated 27 Mar) and completed biometrics same day
11 Jul 14: ILR approved
14 Jul 14: BRP and approval letter received
2 Dec 14 - Eligible to apply for citizenship

Hello everyone...

so my settlement visa was denied due to the fact that they wanted more evidence of our relationship, his settlement status in the uk, a more recent lease agreement, my itineraries and photos of us.

I have since resubmitted an appeal. and am waiting on the response.

my questions are:

1) can i travel to london while waiting for this appeal to visit my fiancé?
2)I have a canadian passport, do i need a visa?
3)has anyone gone through the appeal process? how long will it take?
4) would it just be better for me to reapply? if so does anyone have suggestions as to whether or not there is an agency I can use? (i cannot really afford an immigration lawyer)

I am desperate please help.

Did you get an email advising you of the outcome?

One of the more knowledgeable forum seniors may be able to step in here, but during the time I've been on this forum, I've not heard of anyone not getting an email about the decision.  Not to say it won't happen ever, but usually they email you with the decision and give you the tracking number of the documents they're sending back.

Have you checked your spam folder perhaps?

I was not the one that made my application my Lawyer did from the UK... I have no choice but to sit and wait... she was out of the office so we were going to call her on Friday to find out if she got an Email... There have been people in the past who never got an Email at all but just had UPS deliver it. Yes the Info Notice says it was for me from the British Consulate so until tomorrow morning I won't really know if I was or wasn't Approved... I'm actually really happy to know that I got something back
