shopping at US Amazon / UK resident
« on: July 23, 2010, 11:03:27 AM »
Does anyone know if, I, as a Canadian living in the UK with no account with Amazon.com (but one with Amazon.co.uk), can order things from Amazon.com with a UK or Canadian credit card and UK delivery?  I'd prefer to use a UK credit card.

Is this possible? TIA!  :)

Using a uk card isn't a problem, but I think you have to register with amazon.com also.

Yep, what HG said - I'm pretty sure I've ordered from amazon.com before from here.  Just usually takes longer to get the stuff.

If you have one Amazon, you have them all.  I used to order from the UK site from the US, and I've used the French site from both the US and the UK.  It's never caused a problem.

I've never had a problem ordering from either one.

OK, I have finally decided to try ordering said item and I get this message:

'We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order by changing its quantity to 0 and clicking the update button below'

Tried changing delivery address to my sister in Canada with no joy. It's a pair of shoes sold by one of their partner companies.

Help! Any ideas on the cause of the problem and how to solve it?

ahh some things they will only ship to a particular country (usually electricals or DVDs I've seen).  Does the page for the item say anything about it?  Might just be that particular Amazon partner won't.

Thanks - bought some dresses instead on discount elsewhere!

Boo hoo about the shoes though!

I find if what you want to purchase is from an individual seller, they quite often don't ship internationally.
