E-Mail hacking going around
« on: August 17, 2010, 12:32:51 PM »
Just a warning.  My husband got a spam email from me last night.  It turns out my email was hacked and someone (well a computer) was using it to send spam emails.

They direct you to a website that tries to sell Viagra.  It does not contain a virus, so that is good at least.  But when I mentioned it at work three other people have had it happen from hotmail, yahoo, and g-mail.

They literally use your email, you can see the outgoing messages in your sent box.

You need to change your email password and it should stop.

Also, a reminder to go through your address book because I haven't cleared mine out for years and awkward messages to ex-boyfriends suck.   :)

It was this basically.

If my husband hadn't of said anything I would have never known, even though I talk to most of my email contacts on a regualr basis.
