Oooooo!
Can I be cheeky and suggest a show?
Ok, I will hehe
I was taken by a friend to see Les Miserables at Cambridge Circus for my birthday a few years ago. Nevermind that I've seen in 2 times in NYC - it was fantastic! We even sat in the "nosebleeds" and had a wonderful time singing along and everything  ;)

You can often get good tickets by going to the cheap ticket booth on Charing Cross Road right in the heart of the theatre district- if you're not that bothered about what you see you can often get them for that day.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was supposed to be really good too- you might want to try to pick up a copy of Time Out Magazine to see what is around!

I loved Les Miz...cried and sang all the way through it.
I enjoyed When Harry Met Sally, a great date one. Molly Ringwald may still be in it.

Have a great time!

I saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang recently and that was a lot of fun. I also saw Phantom of the Opera. A lot deeper than Chitty but it was great as well.

I loved loved loved We Will Rock You. It actually has a really good story behind it so it's not just a "how can we integrate these songs into a plot" sort of thing. It was SO MUCH fun!!! And I'm only a casual Queen fan and didn't even know all of the songs!!

I vote for Phantom of the Opera -- it's my all time favorite and it's being made into a movie now -- hopefully coming out at Christmas time.

If you haven't decided yet...

What kind of show do you want to see?
A big West End musical?
A comedy?
A drama?
Something new and trendy?
Something with stars?

There's a plethora of stuff, to fit all tastes.  If you want to wing it, and save money, definitely go to the TKTS booth at Leicester Square... They have loads of shows; particularly the ones that have been running for a long time.
*****DO NOT GO TO ANY OTHER PLACE THAT SAYS '1/2 PRICE Tickets' as they are not sponsored by the Society of London Theatre, which is the legit organization... and could charge you lots of extra money as well as selling you illegal/ incorrect tickets.
The tickets you get from the booth will be in the orchestra, but usually off to the side.

OR - you can also go directly to the box office the day before, or as early as you can, and ask what they have available.  Many theatres also release the first few rows of tickets a few hours prior.

I have heard amazing things about this particular version of Anything Goes, which closes this next weekend... but again, depends on what kind of show you want to see...

What about taking in a few art exhibitions?  There are some really nice ones going on right now, and you could pretty much walk along the Thames, ducking into galleries and probably get in 2 or 3 different galleries, most of which have more than one exhibit going on.
