How to buy a car without credit history?

We moved from the US to the UK three weeks ago and the car that our company gave us is only for one month. Now we have to buy a car but the bank will not finance it for us because of the lack of credit history. We really do not know what we are going to do when the rental agreement is over. The relocation company did not mention anything about this prior to the move. Any suggestions?

Or... an idea would be to talk to your husbands company and see if they would front the loan for you and then he could pay for it by debiting his paycheck each month for the payment. Farfetched and probably wont work but might be worth a try if you do not have the cash.

I don't know if it would work for you but there is the car share system. You may want to check into that.

I had to stump up the cash. It wasn't fun.  But at least I didn't have to worry about car payments
