Future expat from New Mexico
« on: September 09, 2010, 04:02:06 AM »
Hello everyone!

I'm so great that I found you guys. I'm a senior student finishing up my bachelors and looking into going to the UK for my masters. I'm sure that I'll come up with tons of questions along the way, though reading through a lot of your posts have already answered some questions and have reassured some of my worries.  Looking forward to talking to you all!

Thanks :)
"Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand." - Carl Sagan

Welcome to the site :).

I saw on one of your other posts that you're a student at the University of New Mexico. I'm British, but I was a study abroad exchange student at UNM in Albuquerque in 2003/04 (Physics and Astronomy department) and a grad student there as well in 2008 (Earth and Planetary Sciences) :). There are a few other members here who are from (or have lived in) New Mexico as well.

Good luck with your plans to come to the UK - as you've probably already seen, there is a ton of useful information here on UK-Y and plenty of people around to help if you have questions :).

Welcome :)  My grandparents retired to NM (Albuquerque) and I have an uncle who married and settled with a girl from Roswell.
