Garra Rufa Fish Foot Treatment

Has anyone had this done? What was it like?

A shop that does this has opened in York. I'm thinking about trying it out, if it's not too expensive.

Garra rufa are little fish that nibble the dead skin off your feet.

You stick your feet in a tank with the fish and they nibble at your feet.

I read an article about that months ago.  It was highlighting a salon in (iirc) Atlanta that was offering it.  The upshot of the article was that the state health department was going nuts and re-writing the rules in order to ban it on sanitary grounds. 

You can't sterilize a fish.

I read an article about it pretty recently too. I can't decide if I'm intrigued or horrified! 

It sounds like it would really, really tickle!  It's bad enough when I feed our fish and they try to suck on my fingers!

Go for it and let us know what it's like!    I would try it!

What about animal rights?  If you were a fish would you want to do that all day? 

Presumably they like it or they wouldn't do it!
