Citizenship questions
« on: October 29, 2010, 08:41:34 PM »
Hi everyone
I'm considering applying for a citizenship for two people over 18 and one person under 18
I myself have a British citizenship, however I've lost my citizenship certificate. I need the information on that certificate to fill the application of my wife and children who haven't got british citizenship yet.

My first question is how long does it ake to apply for a duplicate certificate?
When I called the Home Office they said it'll take about 2 to 4 weeks
is that correct?

My second question is if I send the application forms for my wife and children after december, how long does it approx take for the whole citizenship application to be processed? I know it says on the UKBA website that it will be dealt with within six months, but do they usually take longer or shorter?

My last question is, I live in Newcastle, and after I receive my approval for citizenship, how long would it take for a citizenship ceremony to take place? For example within two weeks or months or what?

I'm really worried that the whole process, including the citizenship application, the ceremony and the passport application will take more than seven months, as I really need to travel at least before July.
