Headed to US for Thanksgiving!

As soon as I hit the ground I have to head for Publix and buy a turkey and all the ingredients for smoking.  Brine the bird for 24 hours then dry it for 12, then pop it in the smoker and deliver smoked turkey goodness to my family on Thursday.

Later that day, headed to a friend's house for 2nd Thanksgiving, and taking bacon explosion fatties with me.  Also Pillsbury Grand biscuits for making sandwiches.

Then back to the UK 10 days later.

I'm going to the US too, but I get to kick back and let other people cook this year! Whew! It's my first time back for Thanksgiving in 4 years, so I'm really looking forward to it. Good luck getting everything done!

We are heading out on Friday, it'll be 24 hours of travelling, leaving home at 1am to drive down to Heathrow for an 8.30am flight to JFK, then the train into Penn Station to get a train at 3:30pm to Hartford, Connecticut, where DW's sister will pick us up for the 2 hour drive up to Vermont, should get there about 8pm!

Spending a week in NH/VT with DW's daughter and her sister, Thanksgiving at her sister's, and then the day after we drive down to Philly for our 2nd week with friends and visinting DW's dad.

Mmmm, smoked turkey.
