hi :)

I am new here and need some info.

i am going to be travelling to the UK from the US to meet someone I met online.  I am planning to book the flight for a duration of 1 month.

I have asked him to write me a letter of accomadation as proof.  In the letter will state he will supply my accomadation and help me out on basic needs such as food/ supplies for the duration of my stay.

Since I am booking the flight for 1 month, how much money in my savings is acceptable in an IO's eyes?

By the time i book my flight and my last minute items i spend here, i will have about $4,000 in the bank at the time of arrival to the UK.  Is that amount of savings acceptable for that amount of time since my accomadations are being taken care of for a month?

thank you.

Hi, thank you for all your reply's!!

Since I read your other reply about if I ask for a month's stay, to make sure I only plan to stay for a month even though i may get 6 months clearence... since it may affect your settlement visa in the future...

I was planning on going for a month, i was going to originally see how it goes with him and if I am enjoying myself change the flight to a few more weeks stay.

Instead of changing my flight plans as it may affect a visa down the line,

What if I asked for 2 months stay to the IO, while carrying his letter of accomadation for me while i have $4000 in a bank statement??

Do i Still have a good chance not to get turned away with asking for this extra months (two months)  with $4000 and his letter?

Is $4,000 in savings acceptable for (2 months) then?

I was originally thinking of going on vacation for 1 month...with $4,000 in savings... which i got an answer that amount would be fine.

From what I read even if I get stamped a 6 month stay... i should leave when i say i am going to leave to the IO. 1 month.

BUT, now I am thinking if I have to leave when I say i have to leave to the IO even though I get 6 months... I may want to book longer

What do you think my chances are gaining entry for a 2 month stay when i have $4,000 in bank statements and an accomadation letter from him saying he is providing me with housing and basic needs in addition to my $4,000

Is $4,000/accomadation letter acceptable for two months stay then in an IO's eyes?
thanks!
