What was the last Performance Arts you attended?

I went to my local panto last night, Beauty and the Beast. Last year's show was really good and this years show wasn't as  But the people they dragged up on stage were fabulous: they had some kid swipping rubbish off the stage but he'd obviously never used a broom before and he was using it like a push-broom. The guy they pulled up for the messy bit was dead-set on giving as good as he got. At the end when they brought kids up they managed to get two of the cutest 2yos (though one will be 3 week after next) and the little boy just started dancing around while they were interviewing the other kids and the band started adding sound effects. It was hilarious!

Sounds fun .

The last performance thing I went to was the English National Ballet's Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hall back in June. My brother was in it as an acrobat in act I and as a gargoyle in act III (he did lots of backflips on and off the stage)... it was really cool to watch him onstage with all the ballet dancers, especially as ballet is really not his thing (he's a former gymnast and a stuntman-in-training) . Almost didn't seem fair as I was the one who studied ballet for years, yet he's the one who got to perform with the English National Ballet, lol!

  Verdict: Loved the cast, was hilarious to be a part of and I think my husband had more fun than my son ( he yelled louder than anybody) but Pam let the side down. She had some great lines but delivered them poorly, and couldn't carry a tune if you gave her a bucket.  Otherwise i had a blast! Les Dennis is a legend!

Local playhouse Christmas play - A Christmas Carol.

It was alright, but seems as it's early in the run that the cast hasn't gelled yet and it was slow in places.   

Went to see  Peter Pan, with David Hasselhoff as Captain Hook.  Good fun.  I think David is perfect for this kind of theatre, he is such a big ham.  I recommend it if you are looking for silly evening out.

One of my friends saw that panto! His advise was to skip it, so he must've caught an off night.

We saw the Scottish Ballet's performance of Cinderella last night and absolutely loved it. We were a bit unsure in the first act, but by the third act we were rolling in the aisles. Hilarious!

One thing I particularly liked was that Cinderella occasionally dances barefoot. I don't often get to see a Prima Ballerina dance without slippers and every toe was graceful. A lot of characters wore very thin or, occasionally no, tights and you could see each muscle flex in turn - very impressive (and more than a little intimidating).

My boyfriend suprised me with a few nights at the Mayfair earlier this month and saw Oliver at Theatre Royal. Great cast and amazing performance!
