More4 is dropping The Daily Show

More4 is cutting back from five editions of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart per week to just one.

From next month Channel 4's digital service will only air The Daily Show Global Edition on Mondays, marking an end to the five-year deal which began with More4's launch in 2005.

What a bonehead move.  Guess I'll be watching on the interwebz from now on.

I've just read in the Guardian that you've decided to drop The Daily Show in favour of the super-compressed, disjointed, and out-of-date "Global Edition" of the show. I am extremely dissapointed in this move and urge you to reconsider. The Daily Show is one of the few More4 programmes I watch every single day, and because of it, I often carry on watching the programme directly after it. Without the Daily Show, I can't foresee myself watching More4 at all, especially not for the appalling US remake of "Shameless", which I hear you've chosen to purchase instead.

Well done, More4, for getting rid of the only programme that brought you critical acclaim, continuity, and viewers.

I complained as well! I enjoy getting that and its only 30 minutes not the whole show!

I have resorted to a lot of E! News and now Chelsea Lately ;-)

I got a response to my complaint.  Essentially, "Sorry to hear you're disappointed; I'll pass your comments along to someone important." 

Who will ignore them, presumably.

Who exactly is the channels demographic?  Aside from the Daily Show, the only shows they have are repeats of property shows and Time Team.

I figured that's what they'd say, so in my initial complaint I said the global edition wasn't a good enough substitute for a topical news program.  I'm sure the head of More4 is right now reading my email with interest.

Yet another US TV show bites the dust here in the UK!!

I suggest that Daily Show fans log onto www.tvpc.com  or tvweb360.com and watch Jon Stewart there!!

Its been 3 LONG FREAKIN' YEARS since The Late Show With David Letterman has been on UK TV!! In my opinion he has been treated abominably over here!! But, there is a light at the end of the tunnel here, because a new entertainment package is due to start up on all cable/satelite platforms here called Electric Sofa, with 2 film channels and a General Entertainment channel and they are proposing showing 2 US Late Night talk shows and all of us UK fans of David Letterman are hoping and praying that it will be The Late Show and possibly either Conan or The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson!!!
