I was told at work today to invest in fingerless gloves because I'd need them.  I can't wait.  :D

I have three pairs!  ;D

Back before my drafty, warehouse office got a proper roof and central heating (yes, really), my husband bought me these USB heated gloves. They're those convertible fingerless/mitten types and they've got a heating pad on the back of your hand and another in the mitten part over your fingers. If you're sat at a computer all day, they're very warm indeed!! (you need two spare powered USB sockets though)

But I'd never seen these before! They sound LIFE-CHANGING! I've just ordered some from here! Thank you!  :-*

Ooh those look even better than mine since the heating pad is one long shape instead of two smaller ones. And they've got super kawaii animals. ^___^ Glad I could help!

I did an experiment today. I tried wearing a t-shirt under my blouse and jumper, and the extra layer helps a lot. I think I may need to buy a bunch of cheap t-shirts.

The other thing you might look at is the light weight silk-type long underwear (i.e. shirts and long johns). I know here in the US you can get them in tanks, short sleeve shirts, long sleeved shirts, and long johns.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

They are really expensive here, Balmerhon.  At least the limited selection I've seen are.  We meant to pick a bunch up on our trip to the States and have been kicking ourselves for forgetting.

Cold is not limited to the UK. I am cold at home (but refuse to push up the thermostat!) and at work. Some colleagues are wearing coats at their desks. It's all part of the green movement: turn down the heat, turn off the lights, etc.
I quickly took to wearing vests in the UK and also old-lady type knickers! I seem to feel the cold especially in the small of my back. A T shirt layer works just as well. Cotton turtlenecks are a mainstay in the winter. Fleece is good but I think nothing is as warm as wool for a pullover or cardigan.
The best thing is a fleecy throw, a cup of tea and a warm cat  ;D

I've been frozen on this train all day and I am wearing layers!  Brrrr........  I wish I had a blanket... The further to the north pole I get, the colder it is too!

I'm always cold. All year round. I feel any change in temperature really quickly and even the slightest chill will make me uncomfortable.

We've upped the temperature on the boiler and keep the central heating on for longer because of the girls but it's not made a bit of difference to me. I own a ridiculous amount of sweaters.

However, weirdly enough, I can go outside to the shop 5 minutes away in nothing but my hoodie and be perfectly fine. Now that I drive, I rarely wear my coat.

Jon is like a radiator. He is always boiling hot. So it really effs me off when he tells me to put another sweater on. He thinks I'm making it up and is always surprised when I start shivering or have goosebumps. Silly man.

I totally want some of those USB gloves. I think I'll make a couple of rice bags while I'm at it. Thanks guys.

Oh man, I never heard of USB heated gloves before!  Holy cow!  I NEED those.  My hands are always cold when I am typing and I find those fingerless gloves really cumbersome.

My husband bought me one of those "slankets" (a fleecy blanket with sleeves) for Xmas.  It's great.

This works both ways! My husband (damp cold British) and myself (dry cold American) went to Japan (dry cold) and he couldn't stop shaking/freezing everywhere. I was wearing a light jacket, complaining about being hot and he was in five layers!

I guess you get used to one type!

I'm cold.
I'm cold right now, and it is not even cold out.
It is warmer in the garden than the house.
It is cold, damp, and no matter where I am in this country, I seem to feel a major draft...
My hands and feet have been cold all month - no matter what I wear.

AND. IT. IS. JUNE.
“It was when I realised I had a new nationality: I was in exile. I am an adulterous resident: when I am in one city, I am dreaming of the other. I am an exile; citizen of the country of longing.” ― Suketu Mehta.

Married 04/13/11, in NYC.
Applied for Spouse Visa the following week, with express service, and I was approved 4 days later!
Arrived in the UK 05/20/11.
I took the stupid LIUK Test Oct. 2012.
We were granted ILR In Person in Croydon on 04/23/13.
Got BRP 2 days later, in mail box - it just appeared.
