Wisconsin protests
« on: February 17, 2011, 12:46:08 AM »
Not sure how many Badgers there are on the forum, and whether or not they've been paying much attention to things at home, but there are ~30,000 people occupying/surrounding the state capitol building to protest the new governor's plans to essentially end public employee unions.  Last I heard, they're bringing sleeping bags and planning a 'sleep-in.'

There are several Twitter feeds with info (#wiunion, #notmywi, #wisolidarity are just a few) and it's now (on the 2nd day) being picked up by the cable news channels.

Even the Packers have issued a statement supporting the unions.

Exciting stuff!
