Goodbye Minnesota, Hello London
« on: March 15, 2011, 11:32:49 PM »
hey gang:

thought i'd stop by and give a quick hello. Your website was recommended to me by a lot of people and has been a non-stop source of so much information, stories, news... i know that i'll permantly be sticking around here. its such a treasure in this stressful time!!!

I actually JUST completed my biometrics apt monday, FedEx'ed our documents in Tuesday, and today got the conformation that the ball is rolling.

I'm beyond excited to see what our future holds. FH and myself have known each other for just about 10 years, but have been exclusive for the past 20 months.

im totally interested in meeting some ex=pats IRL for anyone transplating themselves to london :) looking forward to finding out your stories.

Hello! Welcome- hope everything goes well with your visa process!
We stole countries with the cunning use of flags. Just sail around the world and stick a flag in. "I claim India for Britain!" They're going "You can't claim us, we live here! Five hundred million of us!" "Do you have a flag …? "What? We don't need a flag, this is our home, you bastards" "No flag, No Country, You can't have one! Those are the rules... that I just made up!...and I'm backing it up with this gun, that was lent to me from the National Rifle Association."

Yay MN! The only bad part of the thaw is it's making my dog all muddy.

chilly: It's awfully brown but i know the greens going to sneak up on us. this past winter was very harsh. i think we had 3 snowstorms that dumped over 10 inches a pop. i know everyone glorifies their childhood memories, but i don't recall a winter like this since i was a weeee girl.

i'm guilty of checking the weather in london and knowing that they will be warmer soon.. :)

Welcome! I'm moving to London this May to be with my UKC husband.   ;D
We met in Tokyo through friends when we both lived in Japan.

Last year we moved to Thailand, got our first apartment together, got jobs with the same employer (!), didn't end up killing each other, got married, and decided to move to the UK to settle down.

London, here we come!

My family lives in the twin cities and I have lived there off and on for a number of years. It is def. warmer here in the winter but colder in the summer. Welcome to the site and if I was in London I would be happy to meet up but alas I am in the north.

Best of luck

ps, how is the flooding?

hello goods! if you're ever in town we should go grab a coffee.

the flooding is just plain stressful. a lot of establishments along any of the rivers are closed right now and just placing sandbags for luck. most of the snow is almost gone. just the spots where you had the high drifts from the hellacious storms this winter remain.

i drove over the  mississippi this morning and its errie seeing 1/2 the trees just poking out of the water.

everyones on high alert. the snow should be done for this winter but they have been forcasting a fair amount of rain. everyones just craving some summer at this point. I'd settle for some leaves.

i heard on the news they opened a few of the roads south of the metro. I drive the 169 route through mankato all the time to visit my family in iowa. that place always gets hit hard. :(
