We're moving into a HUGE flat in a BIG house. There are seven 10' leaded glass windows that need cleaning badly. My tried-and-true favourite way of cleaning glass in the US was good ol' ammonia & water (and newspaper) but thus far, I've been unable to find ammonia for sale over here. Any ideas? I've just never, ever liked using 'glass cleaner' on windows.

Thank you everyone!

You can buy it off of amazon if you can't find it locally. I've picked up ammonia at some random shops around town as well.

Try using vinegar and water instead if you don't like commercial  glass cleaners.

Boots pharmacy sells ammonia. They sell it both online and I have found it inside the store as well.

I second the vinegar and water.  It can work wonders :)

Thank you everyone. Sorry, it's been awhile since I've been back on the site. Lots to do with the move!

I finally found ammonia ... but it doesn't seem to be working as well for me as it did in the States. (Weird, I know, but stilll...) I think I'll give the ol' vinegar & water a try.

Appreciate the feedback,

Denise
