Fiance Visa Checklist
« on: September 01, 2004, 08:11:54 AM »
Ok I was wondering is there a checklist of things to send when you apply on the online fast track for a fiance visa.  I just want to make sure we send all the documents and letters and such that we need.

Oh and if anyone can give tips on what to write in a letter of intent it would be most appreciated.  I'm so nervous I hope we can just hurry and get it all done.

For the letter of intent I wrote something along the lines of:

My name is missy and I am applying for a fiance visa to marry Mr X. We met  this date, and have been visiting each other since that time approximately this number times a year. Our hope is to get the visa, be married such and such date and to live with each other as husband and wife.

He wrote almost a mirror image of that except it was that he was aware I was applying for a visa and that he would support me until I could legally work in the UK.

It was very dry and stiff, and rather cheesy... but it seems to have done the job.

note: this burned me!

If you're applying in person, they will not accept photocopies!  They will (or would at least) by mail, however.  It might be worth checking..

ok.  Well we sent it off fedex overnight on friday.  Everything is original document (hence fedex and not just regular post).  But a good tip to let everyone know.

Good luck! For some reason, as I was reading through the threads late last night, I thought you had already sent in your application and gotten an affirmative reply. Maybe it's my ESP, so I doubt you have anything to worry about.

Cheers,
Jen

Well we sent it off on friday.  We called them today and they had not looked it over.  While on the phone they looked it over quick said that they don't see a problem with it and to call them tommorow.  They have been really nice there.  It's good to know good people are working on it.  Still the waiting is killer.  Anyway its encouraging.  Cross your fingers for us for tommorow.
