Howdy :) (Cincinnati/Harrison Ohio)
« on: July 27, 2011, 03:45:41 AM »
Hey everybody. My name is Valerie and I'm 27. I've been fascinated with the UK since I was 10 and have been trying to move there since I was 18. I've yet to make that dream a reality. I have a ton of visa questions, job questions, etc..
Just thought I would introduce myself though and tell a bit about myself. I have a degree/certificate in Animal Care (and hope to find work in the field or go to school) and I currently work as a freelance author for a couple of online websites.

Location: Ohio (Cininnati/Harrison Area)
Likes: reading, writing, talking, exercising on the Wii, walking and playing with the animals.
Dislikes: Arrogant people, mushrooms, olives, liars and cheats.
Music: Country (mostly).
Areas looked into moving: Farnborough, Sunderland, Stourbridge

I feel kind of bad for mushrooms and olives, sandwiched between all those bad people.

Student visa is your best bet, if you can afford it. They're tightening immigration options day by day.

Welcome to the forum!

Hello! I grew up on the west side of Cincinnati (Bridgetown) and I definitely wanted to escape as soon as I could, so I feel ya. I came to study, so that is probably your best bet! Good luck!
Arrived as student 9/2003; Renewed student visa 9/2006; Applied for HSMP approval 1/2008; HSMP approved 3/2008; Tier 1 General FLR received 4/2008; FLR(M) Unmarried partner approved (in-person) 27/8/2009; ILR granted at in-person PEO appointment 1/8/2011; Applied for citizenship at Edinburgh NCS 31/10/2011; Citizenship approval received 4/2/2012

Haha, Stoatula! It just worked out that way, but it is rather funny in that order. :)
DrSuper, I am also from the Westside. I lived in the Sayler Park/Western Hills area most of my life. Graduated from Dater High School. :)

Thank you both for the welcome.

Welcome!  Even though I lived briefly on the west side and St Bernard, I grew up south of the Ohio River in Northern KY.

Oh yes. I know Oak Hills well.. LOL! Most of my friends moved to Delhi so they could attend Oak Hills and not have to graduate from Dater or West High. haha. Shame lmao.

I like looking across the river and seeing Northern KY. :)
