Have you tried http://www.just-eat.co.uk/?  Put in your post code, order online for either delivery or collection.  (and they list open hours and will tell you if the place is currently closed)

Do you mean that they are closed down, or that they aren't open now (i.e. lunchtime)? If it's the latter than many take-aways don't open at lunchtime

Yeah that's fairly common that takeaways aren't open at lunchtime.  Definitely check out just eat.

Chinese takeaway usually opens at five.

You can get Old El Paso fixings in the grocery and also a brand called Mexican Discovery that isn't bad (they make nice half-cans of refried beans). You can probably get real Mexican somewhere in London; I assume you can get everything in London somewhere.

It pains me that one of my clients is smack in the middle between the two Indian places and one Chinese place that we order from constantly, and I can't just pop in and grab something for home at lunchtime.

TakeAways mostly open around 5 or 6pm. They have no lunch hours because they are just takeaway. You'd have to find a restaurant.  Chippys are open all day as are pubs and fast food like McDonalds, BurgerKing, etc.

I've noticed that the most popular places for food are places like Greggs and Copelands and other places where its a pasty or sausage roll or sandwich to grab and go.  I'm still trying to deal with the fact that most of the people around here just don't eat meals the way we do in the states.

Are there any chinese buffets in your area or even dim sum places? a quick google in teddington london brought back imperial house and reviews say theyre open for lunch.. could always ask if they do take away, i know most of the buffet places in my area do, even though its not advertised.

Restaurant hours in general frustrate the heck out of me here. Even the ones open for lunch close again in the afternoon. The most common hours in our area are 12 - 3 and then 6 - 10. If you want a meal in the afternoon, it's Mickey D's or go hungry.

We were chatting with one waitress who worked both the lunch and evening shift and had to cool her heels for three hours between. Not time enough to be worth going home and coming back, too long to bang around town and shop.

i think im just accustomed to the little chinese take outs being every where and open basiclly 24/7. I just came back from a mark and spencers and they had a great variety of packaged sandwiches and salads. when i get home im gonna go and get a big hot roast beef or a large italian! I havent seen anything like that here. I think im going to stock up on Dunkin Donuts too, the coffee here is just not the same

I don't know Teddington but I have found a decent noodle bar thingy in my local market square....like a stand/cart/booth. Used to be a Jamaican guy there who did a curry goat that was really tasty.

Street food.

At least resturants don't shut on Mondays like they do in France!

The Chinese restaurants in my area are closed on a Monday which is annoying if you are craving Chinese ::)  :P but good for the diet though lol. ;)  :)
