Reputation.. How to earn it?

I'm still new to the boards and noticed a few weeks ago I was awarded/given a reputation. So my question is how do you earn these? What deems someone "worthy" of earning a rep? I'm sorry if this has been posted in a previous thread, but I couldn't find any that mentioned this.  Thanks in advance for your response!

It's entirely up to other members. If someone finds your post/thread noteworthy/helpful, they can choose to award you a reputation point.

If you haven't already, you can go to your profile and click on "Who changed my reputation" - you'll see who awarded you the reputation point and what it was for .

Sheesh, I wish I had known about this. I would have given Ksand dozens for answering all my visa questions!
