You can't access Netflix from outside the US, I'm afraid (even if you try to hide your IP address, it still recognises that you are using a proxy and won't let you use the site).

Believe me, if it was possible to get it access to it here in the UK, I would have been using it for the last 3 years (it's the one major thing I miss from living in the US... UK Lovefilm is really lacking in comparison) :P.

Yeah, no Netflix at all here.  :(  I pine for it weekly.  :P

I was able to access Netflix using hotspot shield last year.
August 2008 - Tier 4 - Student Visa
February 2010 - Tier 1 - PSW
January 2012 - FLR(M)
June 2014 - ILR (finally!)

It's usually in and out with hotspot shield. I find that if I connect it and it doesn't fool Netflix, restarting my computer and then trying it again works. Sometimes, where it doesn't work on Netflix, it will work on HULU. Then, there are the other times, where it is working, but the server is terribly slow, so the film won't load. :(

I tried giving LoveFilm a chance, but it's an epic fail. I hope Netflix makes it over here. :(

I pay about 9 dollars a month for a VPN service and I have never had a problem accessing netflix or hulu (I don't have a TV so this is all I got!)

I tried a trial version of a VPN service and it did work wonderfully, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay for it. I'm not on Netflix or hulu enough..

Well, they *are* accessible - you just have to be willing to fiddle around with different free VPNs or pay for one if you want reliable access (like I do)! I don't have a TV at all - so Hulu and Netflix are literally my two main sources of TV I have (I only use iplayer to watch Doctor Who when it's on) and I use both of them almost on a daily basis (when I have time to watch TV!) for example, last night I watched an episode of Star Trek Voyager (which is now streaming on Netflix woo!) and then an episode of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Hulu.

When I only had my laptop for t.v., I would frequent Channel 4(OD), also. They have some good shows plus documentaries. :)

I continued my netflix subscription that I started in the US with my US bank account (now I only have the streaming subscription obviously!) and I pay approx 9 dollars a month for a VPN - Virtual Private Network, essentially something that makes my ip address look like it is coming from the US.

When I want to use netflix, or hulu, or watch Project Runway on the lifetime website or anything like that, I turn my VPN on and then go to that website and voila! TV bliss.

so doing a private ip addy is better than using hotspot?......i reinstated my netflix and during on hotspot but nope.......guess i will give it a try because i would love to have netflix....thanks for the info
