Homebase or B&Q are the equivalent of Home Depot or Lowe's.

Screwfix as well. Kinda like Argos, you order from a catalogue and items are sent via a warehouse at the back. Its owned by B&Q but prices are cheaper.

Argos owns Homebase (just a note if something isnt in stock at Argos, it might be at Homebase) Theres also Wickes and Wilkinsons (though they might be more of a northern company)

I would say Wilko (Wilkinson's) can be useful.

B&Q - the colour scheme and logo are similar to Home Depot even though they aren't connected.

Wilko's isn't a big box one though.  Ok for paint, wallpaper adhesive etc. though.

This is really amusing to me - the tune for the jingles is even the same! (although the words are different).  They aren't actually connected though.  Apparently one just copied from the other (can't remember which way round it was).

Its closer to Homebase than B&Q, true, but they still sell a lot of DIY supplies.

FWIW I believe Home Depot used to have financial interest in B&Q for a VERY long time. Which explains why the colour schemes and other similarities.

I found it amusing also when I was over to visit and wondered if they were connected.  The financial interest explanation makes sense.  :)
