Can my pets go in January?
« on: September 15, 2011, 05:34:39 AM »
Can anyone provide some helpful information?  We are moving to UK after first of the year.  Our dogs just had their blood draws done 3 days ago.  Based on the 6 month rule they wouldn't be able to fly over until March.  However, with the rules changing on January 1, 2012 does this mean that they will be able to go in January provided all paperwork is in order?  None of my contacts (veterinarian, pet relocation agency) seem to have any knowledge of the new 21 day rule and are assuming we will have to wait the full 6 months. Help!

Yes, effective January 1 your pets will be able to fly. I asked DEFRA about the waiting times, and they said that on January 1, if you've passed the 21-day mark, you're fine.
