Battered Mars and or Snickers bars..
« on: September 28, 2011, 03:02:29 AM »
I had some while on my visit and at first was disgusted at the idea, then I tried them and thought they were good. Only for a couple of bites though, there's too much fat and caloric intake going on there for me to enjoy a full one LOL. What's your opinion on them? :) I know in the US we have fried ice cream and just about every fried food imaginable lol. Chocolate covered bacon is beyond my comprehension lol. Will never try that!  :P

I've been in Britain for 20 years and I have never had one, nor have I seen one on offer. I don't particularly like fried food, so probably I would steer clear of them.

Fried ice cream...thats a blast from my past!

I would think it would be easier to get that kind of thing in the US around county/state fair time than in most of England. I've seen fried butter on offer in California for goodness sakes!  ::)

I'm willing to try a few bites. I've heard fried mars bars compared to chocolate donuts... but I had trouble finding a place that offered them in Edinburgh and have never seen them on offer in East Anglia - so I think it will be awhile before I get to try one.

They have them all over the place in Scotland all the time.  Occassionally at my local fish and chip shop you would get a few battered Malteesers in with your chips.  Boak.

But they are nto as common in England.

Boak.

I'm just glad someone else knows this word. I was recently introduced to it.  ;D
