good mechanic in Manchester?
« on: October 23, 2011, 06:12:48 PM »
So we just arrive here a couple weeks ago and got a car.  It runs fine but the previous owner told us of a suspension problem- nothing urgent but something that needs to get done.  Being new to the area we don't have the first idea where to go.  Any suggestions of a good mechanic in Manchester?  We are on the south side but don't mind going further to someone who we can rely on more.

Alternatively is there a place like Angie's list to get suggestions?

Any suggestions would be a great help

If you're near Chorlton, take a look at this forum: http://www.chorlton.co.uk/Talk/viewforum.php?f=5

They have a few threads on mechanics, and talk about both who is good and who is bad...

I have had my car MOT'ed at the Chorlton MOT place, near to Morrisons. Honestly, you are in Sale, I don't think you will have much problem in Sale finding a good mechanic. But if you want to come to Chorlton, there are a few that my friends rate. One on Albany Road near the Unicorn, and like I said, the Chorlton MOT centre has been good for me. Good luck! Let me know if you fancy coming to Chorlton and going to a playgroup after half term!

It is! But I have a real affection for the Precinct, I'd hate to see them make it all posh!

Thanks racheeee- I don't doubt that there is someone in Sale but finding the is a bit tricky so that's why we don't mind the drive for less hassle.  He went to a place for a oil change and even though the car was there all day it wasn't done when he came to get it so we thought we'd go someplace else:)

YES!!!  I would love to meet up.  I should get my mobile number and everything done this week and will let you know- thanks again

Of course, I feel the same, the Precinct is a Chorlton Institution, but a Booths would be awesome...I am at the Precinct pretty every other day! My son goes to Oswald Road School and its a regular hangout for us Mums! Qualitysave in particular!!! But the parking is so silly, paying £1 to park is highway robbery!
