1040 wages
« on: April 14, 2003, 09:48:19 PM »
I had all my forms printed up, but due to time limitations i was unable to get to filling them out untill now.
Now i'm stressing with a new set of problems.

If you could just help me out on a qustion it would be great...
The question that i have is about reporting my wages on the 1040.
Do i just report the wages that i earned in 2002 that i get off my w-2? or do i have to do all the conversion of the british money that i erned and calculate that into the wages as well?

Hi Bob

You should alsways report your worldwide income on your US return. This includes your W-2 wages and your UK wages (converted in to US $).

You should however, claim the foreign earned income exclusion and foreign tax credit against your UK wages on forms 2555 and 1116.
