Hamper of British foods to the US?

I want to send a hamper of british foods to my family in the States for Christmas. I'm finding lots of places that do nice British tea hampers, but my dad's not really into tea, so I'd like something that contains meats or cheeses or savoury things as well as tea and chocolates. Ideally, I'd love to send him some British beers, but I recognise alcohol laws are kinda crazy in the US.

Does anyone have any recommendations of places online to buy from?

Ah, good question! I want them to ship it, so preferably from an American-based company. I've learned the hard way how expensive international shipping is, especially for heavy things.

Just in case you come across Fortnum & Mason in your search, steer clear of them.  My wife tried to send a hamper from the UK to my parents in the US last year.  One of the items that was supposed to be in the hamper was out of stock, and instead of contacting her to find out what to replace it with, they just didn't send the hamper at all.  The only reason she found out it hadn't been sent was she checked the order status online, and then called them to see why it hadn't been shipped.

They eventually shipped the hamper, but it got there two weeks after it was supposed to, and throughout all of this Fortnum & Mason seemed unconcerned about it.  If you want to hear a good rant from a British person, just ask my wife about them.

That's terrible! I usually get an F&M hamper delivered from my dad in the US for Christmas and it's always my favourite present! Of course, that's sent from the UK to the UK, so maybe it's just overseas shipments that they're not good at.

Could be.  I know my wife picked them because they had a good rep, and was exceptionally disappointed in the result, and in their customer service.  It was meant to be one of those "I'm going to get my US in-laws something nice from the UK" moments, and it most definitely wasn't.

They are a lovely deli type shop in Northallerton, N. Yorks and do excellent hampers with stuff mainly from Yorkshire.  Don't know if they ship overseas though.

Ah thank you! Their website is terrible so it's difficult to figure out, but it looks as though you just buy whatever like like, add a $5 gift basket on, and they'll wrap it all up for you. This might be the way to get stuff included that I know my parents like....

When we lived in the US we purchased several types of Brit cheeses from www.igourmet.com and I think they do some other British foods. They do hampers and gift baskets.
