Sorry, couldn't resist the parenthesis part.

Anyway, so I'm starting to fill out the online application and I just had a couple questions (I did a search of the board and couldn't find the answers).

1. For other names: Do I put my former married name?

2. I clicked "no" that my current passport isn't my first one and then it asked for details. Do I put the passport number, issuing authority, date of expiry, place of issue, date of issue (just like I did with my current passport)? Also is this the place where I would put that I'm missing a passport from 2006 - 2007?

Thanks!

Let the nail biting begin  ::)

I can't answer those, but I'm right with you aricarai.  I logged on to start the online application.  I hoping to have things completed and sent by the end of this week.  Yikes!

Good luck and all the best wishes to you!    :)

I put my former married name in because I wasn't quite sure what it was asking for and figured I'd rather give too much than not enough. It ended up formatting sort of weird, so I just made a handwritten note on the printed application that it was my married name from a previous marriage. Maybe someone else has better info on the subject?

As for #2, I think your instincts are along the right lines.

Wishing you so much luck! Looks like they've been processing fast lately, so hopefully your wait won't be very long either! I know mine wasn't.

We should start a club. I submitted mine tonight.

#1 I agree with Pip...cover your bases

#2 That's what I put on mine. And I think it makes sense to include a mention of the no passport held 06-07.

I hate to say good luck. So I'll say 'see you on the flip side'  ;)

I just wanted to say Good Luck to you guys!  I applied exactly a month ago today and I was going crazy with worry.  I have been back in England for a couple of weeks and it all seems rather surreal still.

With regards to your questions Aricarai:

#1 Yes put any other name you have been known by.  It does print out in a weird order and when I got to my biometrics appointment they lady thought there would be an issue, however, I had my application to show that the proper name was on my application so all was good.

#2 You are right with your instincts there!

Good luck again everyone!  I am sure you will all be in England soon!  Let's start a club and meet in London or somewhere central so we can all have a drink together!

A question for those who have applied: I'm not liking how little space there is for answers (for example, the past passport question and the travel outside the UK question) - is there a space at the end to provide additional information like there is on the paper form?

As it was already said, yeah, there's a text box at the end of the app for any additional information you feel is relevant.

I pointed out my silly name printout to the biometrics guy, and he just said, "Yeah, it's a really stupid system.  I'll fix that for you."  Watched him fix it on the screen, and no questions asked from New York.  :)

Well, that's no fun; I'm going to Scotland!  Hrmph, I see how it is.  ;p  Again, I'm excited for everyone with their apps in; March will prove a good month for a lot of us, I bet.

My cover letter is proving to be a pain in the butt for some reason. It's like I have writer's block or something. I've been working on the damn thing for 2 days. I KNOW I'm over-thinking it, but I'm just putting it to the side for the moment.

On to the next part of my checklist - getting my most current bank statement/balance notarized in the morning.

Boy will I be glad when this process is over.  :P
