It's sort of like American
« on: April 12, 2012, 07:49:01 AM »
I was watching telly last night, and an advert came on for these bitty cracker things that looked like they could be like Pepperidge Farms Goldfish.  Even if they aren't like them, they look very American.  I figured we could use this thread not for American food finds and not for cooking ingredient substitutions, but for British things that are not entirely unlike American products.

Here's the oddities link.  They come in cheese as well as things like bacon:

I wish they tasted like Goldfish crackers (to be fair you can get Goldfish at ASDA), but they don't. :( They taste like lightly flavoured cheese puffs.

You can get goldfish here now right? They seem to have them in ASDA, but I am scared of ASDA so get them in selfridges, they're £1.99 a pack :)

I worded that incorrectly - should be lightly flavoured cheese, slightly puffy crackers.

Not a Goldfish person myself.  I just saw the advert and thought they might be a bit like them.  They definitely seem American though.

I think a lot of the sugar-free squash drinks (not blackcurrant, obviously) are Crystal Light-like.

Lidl had some sort of peanut butter chocolate biscuit things in their chocolate bar section.  I didn't want to spring for them then, but I definitely want to try them at some point.  Most of their "American" line is horrible though (IMO).

Girl after my own heart!  I spied them the other day, but had already succumbed to sweetarts.
