I have recently purchased two Britax Marathon Convertible car seats, not realising that they are only intended for use in the US and are not approved for use in Europe (I live in London). I don't want to risk using something that isn't legal and could invalidate my insurance. So I have bought two European approved car seats instead, and want to sell the Marathons.
I don't feel comfortable about selling them on eBay, because I don't want somebody who doesn't know the rules either, to buy them not knowing they're doing something that could put their insurance cover at risk. But I can't afford to just throw them away, so I thought I'd try it here. There might be someone here who is about to take their baby to the US and needs a seat for the plane journey and then use it in the car once they're there.
They're brilliant seats, in excellent condition. They can be used rear facing from birth to three years, and then forward facing up to about six. They both have a navy denim cover and come with instruction booklets. I'd like to sell them for £60 each.
I hope this post isn't against the forum rules, and if it is, I understand if it is removed. But I just thought the only person who will be able to legally use these car seats, is somebody who will take them back to the USA.
