EURO 2012
« on: June 14, 2012, 07:42:28 PM »
So I somehow missed the fact that this was going to involve (so far) 2 games a day for a week...all of which I think we've watched. Seeing as there is 1 tv in the house daughter and I are BORED. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy football...but EVERY NIGHT for a week?? I cannot wait for it to be over!

Should have gone to the library to stock up on books when I had the chance! ::)

Hubs has watched them all so far,and I pick and choose which ones I actually watch, or the ones I 'sorta' watch while on my laptop. I love the game, but some teams/matches don't hold my interest.

You might want to go ahead to the library. This is just the group stage, and after that you have all the quarter finals, semi-finals and final. ;)

Unfortunately, it's not just for a week... the tournament goes on until July 1st!

That's 2 matches a day this week, then one almost every day for the next 3 weeks.

As a heads up, the only days that don't have a match are: June 20th, 25th, 26th, 29th and 30th.

I'm with ya. I really like football and I do enjoy the Euros, but I don't want to watch every single match. Ugh. Men.

Suffering a bit here too. Fortunately, DH will turn it over to a show I really want to watch at times. I guess I could go upstairs and watch the other TV, but I like being with DH. :)

So, am I the only one who's loving this??  Our TV has been constantly on while we both do our own things... and I think it's great!  Also, it's not like there's much on TV that I'd be interested in watching otherwise...Or am i missing something--what are you ladies watching?!

LOL. Most of the time we're watching downloaded American shows that we then stream to the Television via an Apple TV.

I only see J on the weekends, but luckily he loathes football.  And the tv's not on much in my house anyways, too busy, so life is good for me  ;)

Can you and your daughter go into another room and watch iplayer, 4OD, etc? And definitely get thee to the library!  :)  If the weather is ok, go for a walk as its quite light late this time of year?  Go bake something? Draw? Craft? Garden? Clean the bathrooms? Paint your toenails?  Play a board game?  Write your own novel?  Knit a sweater?  Go to a non-sports pub and drink yourself into a stupour? Go to the cinema? Go late night shopping?  Go roller skating?  Teach yourself the guitar?  No need to be bored!  ;)

I've never gotten food on my underpants!

HAHAHA write my own novel! I love it. Normally I would go for a walk, but the silly weather isn't cooperating.
We only have the one tv, and at night our internet slows to a crawl so watching anything on the pc is out.
I'll watch tonight's England match happily so that's ok. AND, its not so much that I am missing anything on the telly while he's watching the footie. BUT, more I miss him as he completely gets absorbed during the games. Oh well, at least I am getting a bunch of crocheting done.

I'm annoyed by it as its interrupting my EE guilty pleasure watching. :( And what is on, seems to be terrible movies that are aimed at women or sex int he city marathons or some other sexist rubbish.

If youre posting from a PC you can watch live tv on it by using TVCatchup Its free, just need to sign up and has over 40 freeview channels streaming on there

You're not the only one. I have only had my laptop downstairs with me for two nights of it, one game each night. I love, love, love the sport. It is just the one or two slower paced teams who seem to want to run around like they are lost instead of actually playing the game that bore me. Every country has one or two in their top league, and in big competitions like the Euros or World Cup, you can count on one or two countries to be that way. Even with those games, I was 75% watching and 25% doing something else.

I'm loving it and I'm uber excited to go to the pub tonight to watch the England game. I love the atmosphere that it presents. Does that make me weird? I just become in awe of everyone staring at the screen and holding their breath for every corner, free kick, and booking. I LOVE IT!

I liked going to the pub to watch the footie (or rugby) too. Now that we're in the US he has to watch Liverpool at the pub because we don't have Fox Soccer at home. I've gone with him a couple of times, but it's not the same as watching it in a pub in Ireland.

I hate football but love drinking, so football tournaments are win-win for me and the boy (he doesn't like football that much, but does like hanging out with people and he likes beer).

I normally just do something else if he's watching in the house, like bake muffins or take my bike out. I never let English rain stop me from doing anything, if I did I'd never leave the house unfortunately! :)
