Union Jack cake
« on: June 18, 2012, 03:29:42 PM »
Thought you all might appreciate the Union Jack battenburg cake I made for some American Jubilee celebrations here. (made homemade marzipan too). Not perfect but next time I know how I'd change it up. ;D

I can't see your picture...but the cake looks cool.  I am going to give it a try!

Love the American Cake too!  How did you do that?  I like your battenburg even better than the one pictured in the recipe.  Love the Queen on the top!

Thanks.  ;D

The UK cake actually took longer than the US one (very complicated). But now I know what I was doing I'd do both quicker!

The US one was 2 red rounds & a blue round. You have to cut & layer the red ones & then cut out the middle of a red one & the blue and then switch.

The Queen was from a set I got at Xmas in the UK for my toddler! :)

I love both of those!  Such fun!

How crazy is this one that a friend of mine made.  She's amateur, but I think she's amazing:
