Living in the UK for 7 years
« on: July 10, 2012, 04:12:56 PM »
I haven't been active on UKY in ages so I thought it might be appropriate to re-introduce myself.

So, I'm Michelle! 34 years old and married to an Englishman. I've been in the UK for 7 years now. Currently in Cumbria but we'll be moving to Glasgow next month because my husband is going back to school as a mature student at the University of Glasgow.

We have a two year old little boy, named Isaac. Right now I'm just a stay-at-home mom to him but I am looking at going back to uni myself to get a degree in photography.

Can't think of much else to say....

Welcome back!  Sounds like we will just miss you, I will be moving to Newcastle in a few days - we could have met somewhere in the middle for a kiddie playdate!   :)

Hey Michelle,

There's a UKY Glasgow get-together coming up on Thursday, Oct 25th in The Bon Accord (North St, near Charing Cross). Why not come along and meet one or two of the Glasgow crowd?

Hi Michele and welcome back. Hope the move and settling in go well.  :)
9/11/2012 Husband mailed his US citizenship application.
9/17/2012 Received e-mail stating his application has been entered into the system.
9/22/2012 Hubby received letter with date for finger printing.
10/12/12 Hubby went for finger printing.
10/26/12 Dh got a letter stating when he should appear for his interview and test- 11/27/12- just a month away!!!
11/27/12 We went to dh's interview and test- he passed and we went back 4 hours later for the Oath Ceremony! 95 people from 38 countries, really pretty cool!
So he's now a US citizen!!
