UKBA 'Book Appointment Online' is awful
« on: July 17, 2012, 10:07:20 PM »
So yeah, my wife is in the UK with me on her fiancee visa trying to book her appointment online for the premium service for a Set(M). After eventually finding where we're meant to book it, we get the message:

"Sorry, an error has occurred while processing your request.
To continue with an online application or appointment booking, log in to your customer account.
Otherwise use the "Continue" button below to start again."

Starting again gets you into a never ending loop. Anyone have any experience with this?

(also, do they think that if they make their website horrid that people will give up and go home? I feel ashamed to be British sometimes!)

You should be applying for FLR(M), not SET(M).

Well, for a start, she shouldn't be applying for SET(M) anyway, since she won't qualify for ILR for another 2 years. She should be making an appointment for FLR(M), not SET(M).

Secondly, I believe she will have to create a customer account in order to book an appointment online... so she'll need to create an account instead of using the 'Continue' button, and then log in first before she can book the appointment.

Ah, I should have been more clear - she's at the end of her 2 year visa and we are already logged in.

I just logged in and had the same problem- I think it is a technical issue with the website because usually after loggging in you go straight to the section where you can choose what service you are applying for, dates you are available, etc.  Hopefully it will be fixed soon!

Hope so! :)

I've read the trouble people get when they get the website working is that there are no appointments going anyways. Stressful!

I thought you said she was on her fiancée visa?

I must have got my visas confused - sorry.

To people still trying - we kept logging in and logging out till the website started to work. We kept refreshing the search for appointments and shortly after midnight about 3 appointments appeared so we're now booked in a few weeks.

Keep trying and keep exploring options. Best of luck!

 Hi,
I can see there are several appointments available if you do not select any dependants (i.e. 0), but the moment I select (2) dependants I can't see any appointments !

Your experiences and help will be highly appreciated.

At least some of you are actually getting to the website!  :P
I've been refreshing the page all day and it won't even load. It tries for about 30 seconds then says "failed to open page"...
