Gluten free in the northwest!
« on: August 04, 2012, 03:40:37 AM »
I am looking for somewhere that has a descent selection of gluten free products. I am looking for things like brown rice flour, potato flour and starch, coconut flour and GF baking flour. Any ideas??? I just used my last bit. :(

All the bigger Tesco's and Sainsbury's have a "free from" section that has gluten free products, and if you have a Waitrose near you, they have a load as well (at higher prices!). It might be worth looking online at Amazon/Ocado/etc for staples.

I could be wrong, as it is a long time since I used the prescription service in the UK. But, if you are entitled to use the NHS, there is a long list of gf products that can be prescribed for patients who medically need to eat gf. Buy the prescription season ticket and you can order flour, pasta, biscuits, bread, rolls and much more!

I eat gluten-free, as well. All of the larger stores have a selection of gluten-free products... each one a bit different. There are things I like from all of them.  Tesco even has gluten-free soy sauce. The only thing I haven't found yet is the gluten-free Rice Krispies.  They might not have them over here yet.

If you don't mind ordering, there are quite a few places that offer a great selection of GF ingredients.

Etc.

Good luck :)

It can also be helpful to check out coeliac specific resources, such as Coeliac UK:
