Anybody going?

We have tickets for an Equestrian Event. I don't know anything about dressage but I'm sure it will be fun.  :)

we'll be watching from home.  Is it just me or does anyone else not remember hearing about the paralympics when they lived in the US?

We have tickets to athletics, but not sure what exactly as R bought them. I'm really looking forward to seeing the stadium as well as the competition.  :)

We would have liked to see the Olympic Park and stadium too.  Maybe they'll release some park passes.

We work for one of the sponsors and DW was nominated to win tickets - we got them to the athletics, train and hotel included. Looking forward to it.
It's already the highest ticket sales for any Paralympics and also looks like it could be a near sell out.

That's so lucky, Tykeman!

We're going to the Grade 2 Equestrian and my daughter researched the athletes back when we got the tickets.  The young British woman competing when we'll be there is Natasha Baker.  She's has her own website made by her boyfriend!  My 12-year-old is entranced by her, her story, her horse, dog, etc.  She'll be fun to root for.

There's an American woman competing too.  Her name is Rebecca Hart and I'm sure she's lovely too.  But she doesn't seem to have her own groovy website so I suspect in our family it will be left up to me to cheer for the USA.   :)

BBC One had a program about Lee Pearson in the Para Dressage. I don't see it on iPlayer, though. :(

According to this ESPN article NBC is airing a pathetic amount of coverage - 5½ hours of programming -- some of which will air only after the 11-day competition in London has concluded on Sept. 9.

But ironically, the online coverage is so much better.

As for why there wasn't much coverage of previous events in the US, well there wasn't much coverage of the previous events here.  We were in China right before the last Olympics and were really excited to watch everything, but neither us can remember much of the coverage of the previous Paralympics here.

Hopefully, this will start something.
