Question About Travelcards

Ok, so for those UKYers  in the general London area...a question to you about travelcards.   

My husband and I are moving to Beckenham, Kent and work in central London.  I know that our rail station is in Zone 4, but if anyone lives in that general area and commutes in, can you tell me if I would need a photo travelcard or can I just use the National Rail w/through fares Zone 1-4 Travelcard on my Oystercard?  I think I can do that latter as from what I googled, our station has the touch in/out kiosk.

I just would like confirmation, if possible.  Also, I've asked at the rail station and they just look at me like I'm an idiot with five heads.   

Yep, you can use your normal oyster travelcards at national rail stations. DH works in zone 4 near a national rail station.

Yeah, an Oyster travelcard is fine.

I use mine in zones 1-3 for rail in addition to tube and bus.

Yes. That's the best thing about Oyster- works pretty much everywhere!
