From "The Sunshine State" to Birmingham

I'm a mechanical engineer working in Birmingham for the next couple of months. I have been in the area for two weeks now. I have gotten plenty of advice form the Brits on where to go, see and eat but would be nice to get an Americans perspective. Also anyone who would like to meet up sometime.

I'm in delightful Wolverhampton, originally from New York City. At least Birmingham has a bit going on, so I envy you. My husband and I go there occasionally to restaurants or for a night out at some pub. It's a quick train ride for me so if you want to hang out and marvel at the idiosyncrasies of this part of the UK, I'm down with that.
