You're right, this is Yorkshire - "tha what, tha's just gid mi fresh air and charging for it"!

Haha - yes! Seriously, that kind of pretentious restaurant sh** is one of my biggest pet peeves - £100 for 'air'?! Seriously?! We like to eat & we eat well - most of which we cook for ourselves. But I can't be arsed for that - plus the way my husband eats, that £100 'air' would be gone in 30 seconds - now that was really worth it, eh? They can keep their 'air' & I'll keep my £100! I wonder if others here thought the same, hence the demise of Anthony's...  :P

I heard his Rib Shakk wasn't that good anyway.

But definitely get to Reds if you can!  :)

This guy didn't seem too impressed..in fact the way he goes on about the buckets reminds me of my mum!

But I'll take your word over his.

Haha - he's a right sniffy Londoner, what does he know?!  ;) :P (I have read his Guardian column from time to time, but can't stand his whiny voice when I see him on some cooking show - Masterchef? - on TV.)

Well obviously, like any restaurant, YMMV... But the majority of people I know who've been to Reds rave about it, and the line is usually out the door during peak times, meaning that the biggest complaints I've heard are:

a) having to wait too long for a table (refer to that line mentioned above), and...
b) service suffers a bit when they are extraordinarily busy as they quite often are.

So us lowly northern plebes do appear to love the place!  :D
