New Adventures in London!
« on: October 11, 2012, 04:50:48 AM »
Hi everyone! I'm surprised I haven't stumbled on this site before, considering how hectic things have been the past two months but I'm glad I have now!

My name is Chris and I am moving to London with my beautiful wife in approximately six weeks! I'm originally from Alabama and moved to New York after school and worked in banking. I thought New York was this amazing place, like I was really seeing the world, until I met my wife, Lotte, who also works in banking. She's from the Netherlands and is the most adventurous person I've ever met in my life. After we got married we stayed in New York for a few more years, then we moved to Argentina, then to Hong Kong where we have lived for the past four years. I never thought I'd speak four languages, or have traveled to almost every country in South America, or have lived in Asia but Lotte definitely expanded my view on the world.

So, when an opportunity in London (with the same company we both work for) came up that would be an advancement for me, we decided to say adios to Hong Kong and move to London! We have one daughter, Adriana, who is three and part of why we are excited about the move is that we'll be closer to Lotte's family as well; we want Adriana to be close with her extended family.

I'm on business in the states right now, but I know when I get back there will be a lot of preparations for the move but honestly I'm thrilled! I can't wait to get there!

Sounds like an exciting life and an exciting adventure you're once again undertaking!
When is the move planned for?
Oh and welcome to the board!

9/17/2012 Received e-mail stating his application has been entered into the system.
9/22/2012 Hubby received letter with date for finger printing.
10/12/12 Hubby went for finger printing.
10/26/12 Dh got a letter stating when he should appear for his interview and test- 11/27/12- just a month away!!!
11/27/12 We went to dh's interview and test- he passed and we went back 4 hours later for the Oath Ceremony! 95 people from 38 countries, really pretty cool!
