Anyone going to Philadelphia?
« on: October 13, 2012, 05:35:53 PM »
Care to bring me back a cheesesteak w/fried onions, an Italian hoagie, a couple soft pretzels, and a couple Tastyclairs?  ;D ;D ;D

I am really craving some good ol' Philly food today!

I have learned to embrace the British food, but every once in a while, my mouth just waters thinking of a cheesesteak from Leo's..........yum yum yummy yum.

So which is better, Pat's or Geno's?
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

I'm vegetarian so I don't crave the hoagies and cheesesteaks, but I used to walk past Pat's and Geno's on my way to and from work everyday.

I can't say which is better, sonofasailor, but I'll never forget once as I approached Pat's I saw a pigeon standing in the pickles (or was it the relish) and I freaked out.  Everyone looked at me like I was crazy, and of course it flew away by the time anyone turned around.  Oh the pleasures of dining al fresco in South Philly!  :P

I love Leo's in Sharon Hill (not far from the airport). I'm not a Pat's or Geno's girl. I'm not a Cheese Whiz fan. I want American or Provolone. :)

We just got back from a short trip to Philly.  Hubby got a cheesesteak from Jim's on South Street (we past Pat's and Geno's but it wasn't the right time for eating) and he said it was very good.

We also had dinner one night at The Royal Tavern in Bella Vista and hubby got a burger that was the best burger he's ever had.  (They also have nice veggie stuff on their menu.)
