Hi I am the volunteer organiser of the Autumn Pumpkin Festival and Scarecrow Avenue Southampton UK and we have just officially twinned our festival with St Charles Scarecrow Festival, Illinois after a suggestion by a St Charles ex pat living in Bournemouth. We swiftly sent each others flags across the pond and we have a beautiful US flag and St Charles, Illinois flag. Michelle the ex pat has come up with an idea that should bring our festivals and communities even closer together. We had over 8,500 visitors this year and hope for even more when they hear of this exciting idea coming to fruition! We are going to set up 'the great Pumpkin Pie bake off 2013' We are looking for the following -
*willing Pumpkin pie makers who will come down to Southampton for our festival laden with Pumpkin pies small and large made from canned pumpkin and other pumpkin and offer tastings and help sell them for charity.
*Recipe sharing
*an American celebrity chef and a UK celeb chef so we can see who makes the best pumpkin pies!If you know one over here in the UK please let us know.
We are in the very early stages of thinking about this at the moment but would appreciate as much help from ex pats as poss. we could even have interstate variations.
