BRP delivery time? (In-person ILR appt at PEO)
« on: November 15, 2012, 04:08:55 PM »
Wanted to get an idea of how long BRP (Biometric Residency Permit) delivery takes for in-person SET(M) applications at a PEO, for ILR.

If you can, please post:
1) PEO location (i.e. Croydon, Solihull, Cardiff, etc)
2) How many working days it took for delivery
3) Time of day it was delivered
4) Who signed for it? (i.e. did the applicant have to sign)
5) Did you miss the delivery? Did they just come back the next day?

I'd really appreciate to hear about people's experiences. Thanks in advance for your help!

Mine was for FLR(M) but in case they are all treated the same from the approval:

1.  Croydon
2.  Appointment was on a Tuesday, it arrived that Thursday (2 days)
3.  No idea of the time as I was at work and the time wasn't listed on the card, delivered by DX Secure
4.  I signed for it (the applicant) and they did ask for ID (had a giant sticker on it saying "ID Required").  I didn't try to have anyone else sign for it or ask if they TRULY required the ID.
5.  Yes, I missed the delivery and they left a card with the tracking number.  I was able to name my re-delivery day and could have even had it delivered to a different addreess with 48 hours notice

I know it's not the same application but I'm sure most of it will be the same!

Oh!  Perfect timing!  I have my FLR(M) interview in Croydon on 10 December (Monday) and my husband was asked to be best man at a wedding in Germany on 21 December (Friday).  We were hoping all the documents would be back to us by then.  :)  Sounds like they probably will be.  :)

Updating with my experience:

1.  Solihull (Birmingham) PEO, SET(M) application
2.  Appointment on Monday, delivery the following Wednesday
3.  Morning (9am)
4.  I signed for it, I was NOT asked for ID.
5.  N/A

Best of luck to the others who are waiting on pins and needles for their BRP with upcoming holiday travel! :)

1) Croydon PEO, FLR(M) application
2) Appointment Monday morning (8a), delivered Wednesday
3) Morning, 10.30a
4) I, the applicant, signed, I brought passport to the door, he looked at it but not closely
5) n/a

Envelope didn't say 'ID required' at all.  If I hadn't brought my passport to the door, he may not have asked for it- when I got to the door he was busy doing something on his little machine and I proactively offered my passport...  I had to 'sign' (scribble) on their electronic signature pad, but it was in no way legible (due to their machine not working properly, but good enough).  :)

1) Croydon PEO, ILR(M) application
2) appointment Monday 8am, still no BRP midday on Friday
3) ?
4) ?
5) ?

Fingers crossed it shows up today yet, if it arrives next week nobody will be home and we'll have to arrange a re-delivery to my office, which makes the timing very tight. Hubby and I are now discussing what to do about our holiday on the 26th, as we are facing the fact that I may not be able to travel. :(

Is there a number on the paper they gave you at the PEO appointment when you were approved? They're still within the two weeks they say they'll deliver it in, but it's worth at least calling if you're worried about it.

Most people on here seem to get their BRP within a couple days of their PEO appointment, but I believe they did say to expect it within 2 weeks.

I hope it comes before your trip! :-)

There's a generic UKBA phone number at the top of the letter, but the actual contact details they give if you haven't received it after 10 working days are an email address and a PO box address. Given that we're scheduled to fly out 10 working days after my approval date, this will be of no help in terms of our holiday.

The caseworker did mention the 7-day timeframe, but when I mentioned the concerns about our holiday, she said most people get it "sooner than that". I'm just hoping the current bad weather isn't complicating things.

Update finally!

1) Croydon PEO, ILR(M) application
2) Appointment Monday 8am 14th January, attempted delivery Monday 21st January
3) Unsure what time, as no delivery note was left
4) I will be signing for it
5) Since we get home after the 6pm cutoff, there was not enough time to re-deliver to my office before Saturday. I opted to have it sent to a collection point in London for Friday. They said to bring my ID and the failed delivery letter (edit to clarify - they sent a failed delivery letter in the post which arrived today, two days after the attempted delivery).

I rang DX up this evening when we got home and saw the post, and got far enough through the automated system to know I wasn't going to get enough feedback to sort it out, so I stopped answering the prompts until the system put me through to an actual person. I have arranged to have the package sent to one of their London collection points on Friday, as I can't be at home for the rest of the week and need the BRP before Saturday.

I have no idea why a failed delivery card wasn't left, as this has caused an extra 2 days' delay and tons of extra stress, but in the end I will have the BRP before we fly out on Saturday morning. :)
