Rental agreement - as proof?
« on: December 04, 2012, 04:22:50 PM »
Quick question....do I need to put our house rental agreement in for where we live in the US as proof of relationship or finances? or will they not care about that since we will be leaving that address to move to the UK?

Thanks everyone for all their advice so far :)

Assuming you are married and are including your marriage certificate, you don't really need much other proof of relationship. They are much more interested in where you will be living once you are in the UK than where you live right now.

Only liquid assets (cash savings/immediately accessible money in your checking account etc.) can be used as proof of finances, so unless you have just sold a house that you own and the money from it is in your account on the day you apply for the visa, it won't be relevant. As with accommodation - they need to see what you will be living off in the UK and they don't consider anything except salary and/or cash savings/liquid assets.
