I found a box of peppermint candy canes at Debenham's and have been using them to make peppermint ice cream (crushed up and sprinkled in vanilla ice cream). My husband took one bite and gave me his bowl so I mixed it in with mine. Then he made sad faces at me until I gave him another bite and he decided he wanted his back. Apparently it grew on him rather quickly.

I bought peppermint bark (it might have been called reindeer bark?) from M&S. It was expensive but I'd not yet found the candy canes.

I bought some giant peppermint candy canes at the farm shop today! They're meant for people's stockings as I hadn't thought about making bark. Might have to make a return trip for more!

Found some today!  There was a massive pile of them at the checkout at BHS when I went for some Christmas shopping today.  They had peppermint, tropical, and something else, but I can't remember what now.

Another candy cane note: I found loads of them at Home Bargains, and to sweeten the deal even more, they were only 79p per box!

I saw some at TK Maxx recently. They also had Duncan Hines Spice Cake mix but the price was ridiculous.  ::)

I made peppermint bark yesterday. Got candy canes from Cybercandy in Covent Garden. BTW everyone loved the peppermint bark! This is the one I made.

Where in the supermarket section does one look for peppermint oil?  I wandered up and down a few stores and have come out dry, but not sure if that's my inability to shop....

I found mine in the herbal/holistic section of the local organic shop.

I've bought lavender oil in a health food shop before, so I'm sure they'd have peppermint as well.

Back to candy canes - my hairdresser had a big bowl of peppermint ones by the till today!

With the baking stuff would be my guess. Have you tried the health food shop on Baron-Taylor street? I get most of my odd baking things there.

Cheers - I'm in town tomorrow, so I will have to wander over there and take a look  :) :)
