I am wondering since I've not had any work here in the UK yet if I can just have my US accountant file my US taxes as usual and then start in with the UK things (and I'll get an accountant to do those) when I do find a UK job. Comments?

It will depend on your UK residency status ie resident, ordinarily resident, domiciled and the size and location of any financial assets you own and the resulting income and gains.
