Do I owe tax in the UK on inheritance in the US?

My dad passed away and I have recently received an inheritance from him.  It was money from one of his savings accounts which was then wired into my account in the US.  Do I have to report this in the UK and will I owe UK tax on it?  I'll be using a large portion of it to pay off our debts in the UK.

No - unless the payment includes income accrued during the period of administration of the estate.
