Hi guys,

I'm from LA and have been in the UK for 12 years. First in the Northwest (Greater Manchester) and then moved to Bristol nearly 8 years ago. Its home and I'm happy. Just saying hello. :)

Howdy back!

Bristol's a great place to live, and not so rough as it once was ;) I think there's quite a few of us Yanks in Bristol (I hear the accent often enough anyway).

Do you live in town? I'm up in Little Stoke (Aztec West ways)

I'm in Shirehampton. Work in Southville. I lived in the centre when I first moved to Bristol but the late nighters annoyed me. Then I moved to Clifton and loved it but I can't afford to live there. Shirehampton works for now :)

I shop at Tesco's in Bradley Stoke! :) Coffee? PM me

Karen

Welcome to the site, guys :).

I'm not American (although I've lived in the US), but I'm Bristol born and raised (well, technically raised in South Gloucestershire, although I lived in Clifton and Redland for a time too) :).

Not currently living in Bristol, but I come back fairly often as my family and some of my friends are still there :).

Hi and welcome to the forum! What took you to the UK 12 years ago?
Are you there for good?

How do you like Bristol? I know you said you're happy just curious if you would go somewhere else if you could and where would that be?

How does Bristol compare to Manchester in your eyes?

9/11/2012 Husband mailed his US citizenship application.
9/17/2012 Received e-mail stating his application has been entered into the system.
9/22/2012 Hubby received letter with date for finger printing.
10/12/12 Hubby went for finger printing.
10/26/12 Dh got a letter stating when he should appear for his interview and test- 11/27/12- just a month away!!!
11/27/12 We went to dh's interview and test- he passed and we went back 4 hours later for the Oath Ceremony! 95 people from 38 countries, really pretty cool!
So he's now a US citizen!!

I had lived in France moved back to LA and had massive reverse culture shock... So I found a job in Manchester. Never looked back. I only miss friends and food :)

Bristol is beautiful, green and small I think I had had enough of the rat race, but I still have city comforts. Manchester was too big but it has a great bar scene. Bristol is definitively a university town.
